Top 20 Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls, a storied franchise in the NBA, have witnessed the talents of numerous outstanding players throughout their history. Here's a nostalgic journey through the decades, celebrating the top 20 Chicago Bulls players of all time:

20. Norm Van Lier

Norm played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 12.2 PPG, 6.9 APG, and 4.7 RPG. He was a 3x NBA All-Star, a 1x All-NBA Team member, and a 7x All-Defensive Team member. Norm was a really good rebounder for a 6'1" PG and was recognized for his defensive skills and tenacity on the court, he remains an iconic figure in the history of the Bulls franchise. What hurts him is never making a finals and was not very efficient during his time with the Bulls shooting 41% from the field.

19. Kirk Hinrich

Kirk played 11 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 11.4 PPG, 5.2 APG, and 3.0 RPG. He was an All-Rookie Team member and an All-Defensive Team member. Kirk was a really good gritty defender with a high basketball IQ and was a great 3-point shooter. I have Kirk this high because he was a very important piece for the Bulls, they were finally good again after Jordan left.

18. B.J. Armstrong

B.J. played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 10.7 PPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.8 RPG. He was a 1x All-Star and a 3x NBA Champ. B.J. was an essential role player for the Bulls' first 3 peat, he was a very consistent shooter and helped the Bulls' depth a ton when it mattered.

17. Demar Derozan

Demar has played 3 seasons so far for the Bulls with career averages of 25.6 PPG, 5.1 APG, and 4.7 RPG. So far he is a 2x NBA All-Star and a 1x All-NBA Team member. Demar is a crazy good scorer with a killer midrange shooting 52% from inside the arc. While Demar has great accolades so far he has had little to no playoff success making the playoffs only once and losing in 5 to the Bucks, hence why I can't put him higher.

16. Chet Walker

Chet played 6 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 20.3 PPG, 2.3 APG, and 7.1 RPG. He was a 4x NBA All-Star. Chet was known for his versatile offensive game, he could shoot from mid-range, drive to the basket, and had a solid post-up game. Chet also played a pivotal role in shaping the early identity of the franchise, setting a standard for excellence.

15. Ron Harper

Ron played 5 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 7.9 PPG, 2.6 APG, and 3.0 RPG. Ron was a 3x NBA Champ. Don't let his stats fool you Ron was a very good role player for the Bulls mostly on defense, but was still helpful on offense when needed. Had Ron had more individual accolades he could go a little higher, but this is still a great spot for someone who averaged less than 10 PPG.

14. Luol Deng

Luol played 10 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 16.1 PPG, 2.5 APG, and 6.4 RPG. He was an All-Rookie Team member, 2x NBA All-Star, and a 1x All-Defensive Team member. Luol's commitment to defense and scoring touch made him an integral part of the Bulls' success during his tenure.

13. Zach LaVine

Zach has played 7 seasons for the Bulls so far with career averages of 24.4 PPG, 4.3 APG, and 4.7 RPG. Zach is a 2x NBA All-Star (arguably a 5x All-Star). I have Zach this high because even though he has only been to the playoffs once losing in 5 he is one of the best scorers that the Bulls have ever had and is a very good clutch player when needed.

12. Jerry Sloan

Jerry played 10 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 14.7 PPG, 2.6 APG, and 7.7 RPG. He was a 2x NBA All-Star and a 6x All-Defensive Team member. Jerry was a great scorer and an outstanding rebounder for a 6'5" SG with his best season being 9.1 RPG. He was also an amazing defender with career steal averages of 2.2 SPG. Had he had better playoff success he could go much higher, but he never made it to the finals.

11. Reggie Theus

Reggie played 6 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 18.8 PPG, 5.6 APG, and 3.4 RPG. He was an All-Rookie Team member and a 2x NBA All-Star. Reggie was a very good scorer and a very gifted passer. What holds back Reggie is playoff success making the playoffs only once and getting swept in the 2nd round.

10. Toni Kukoc

Toni played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 14.1 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 4.8 RPG. He was an All-Rookie Team member, a 1x Sixth Man of the Year winner, and a 3x NBA Champ. Toni was a do-it-all guy he helped the Bulls in every way he could for their second three-peat. I would put his higher if he had some more individual accomplishments.

9. Horace Grant

Grant played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 12.6 PPG, 2.4 APG, and 8.6 RPG. He was a 1x NBA All-Star, 2x All-Defensive Team member, and a 3x NBA Champ. Grant's hard-nosed defense, reliable scoring, and gritty play helped the blue-collar mentality of those championship teams. Grant is higher than Toni because Grant was a way better defender and better rebounder.

8. Bob Love

Bob played 9 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 21.3 PPG, 1.7 APG, and 6.8 RPG. He was a 3x NBA All-Star, 3x All-Defensive Team member, and a 2x All-NBA Team member. Bob was a relentless scorer and a solid rebounder. His consistency on both ends of the floor and commitment to team success (even though he mainly never got out of the first round of the playoffs) laid the groundwork for future Bulls' greatness.

7. Joakim Noah

Noah played 9 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 9.3 PPG, 3.0 APG, and 9.4 RPG. He was a 2x NBA All-Star, 3x All-Defensive Team member, 1x All-NBA Team member, and a 1x DPOY. Noah was a relentless rebounder and facilitator from the center position. While defensively he was a beast offensively he wasn't the best which is why I can't put him higher.

6. Jimmy Butler

Butler played 6 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 15.6 PPG, 3.1 APG, and 4.8 RPG. He was a 3x NBA All-Star, a 1x Most Improved Player, a 3x All-Defensive Team member, and a 1x All-NBA Team member. Butler is known for his tenacious defense and ability to carry the scoring load when needed. He is over Noah because Butler is also a good defender and is a way better scorer.

5. Dennis Rodman

Rodman played 3 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 5.2 PPG, 2.8 APG, and 15.3 RPG. He was a 3x Rebound Champ, 1x All-Defensive Team member, and a 3x NBA Champ. Rodman is one of the best rebounders in NBA history and is a great defender, however, that's pretty much all he gives you. If Rodman played longer or was a little better on offense I could put him higher.

4. Artis Gilmore

Artis played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 19.3 PPG, 2.5 APG, and 11.1 RPG. He was a 4x NBA All-Star and a 1x All-Defensive Team member. While he was an ABA legend he was also an outstanding NBA player, especially for the Bulls. Artis was a super-gifted scorer and outstanding rebounder averaging over 2 BPG during his time with the Bulls. Even though he doesn't have any championships like Dennis Rodman Artis is just the better player all around and was the best player on the team rather than the 3rd or 4th best player.

3. Derrick Rose

Rose played 7 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 19.7 PPG, 6.2 APG, and 3.7 RPG. He was an All-Rookie Team member, a ROTY, a 3x NBA All-Star, a 1x All-NBA Team member, and a 1x MVP. Rose was an outstanding NBA player before his ACL injury which ruined his career and was never the MVP player that he was before.

2. Scottie Pippen

Pippen played 12 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 17.7 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 6.7 RPG. He was a 1x STL Champ, 7x NBA All-Star, 1x All-Star Game MVP, 9x All-Defensive Team member, a 7x All-NBA Team member, and a 6x NBA Champ. Pippen's versatility allowed him to excel at numerous positions on the court and change the game with his combination of skill, size, and athleticism. Pippen is one of the greatest two-way players of all time and was a huge part of both Bulls' three-peats.

1. Michael Jordan

Jordan played 13 seasons for the Bulls with career averages of 31.5 PPG, 5.4 APG, and 6.3 RPG. He was a 2x NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champ, an All-Rookie Team member, a Rookie of the Year, a 3x STL Champ, 10x Scoring Champ, 12x NBA All-Star, 3x All-Star Game MVP, 9x All-Defensive Team member, an 11x All-NBA Team member, a 1x Defensive Player of the Year, a 5x MVP, a 6x NBA Champ, and a 6x Finals MVP. Arguably the greatest player of all time this should be no shock to anyone that he sits on top of this list. Not only was he an outstanding scorer he was also an outstanding defender.
