The Boys in the Boat is a sports drama based on the #1 New York Times bestselling non-fiction novel written by Daniel James Brown. The film, directed by George Clooney, is about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. ➱ STAFF REVIEW:

"The Boys in the Boat" (2023) features awesome river footage and action-packed, thrill-seeking boat racing scenes. The characters in this biographical film will make you feel like cheering for the underdog, novice rowing team as they compete with more experienced rowers. They also face more challenges due to corrupt officials, skeptics, and overbearing rowing boosters. The movie is overall uplifting without all the suspense and drama you see in modern and more violent films. It may be predictable, but it is based on the Berlin 1936 Olympics rowing category making it historical and interesting.
