➱ STORYLINE:
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) follows the dark and twisted tale of Benjamin Barker, a barber who returns to London after being wrongfully imprisoned for 15 years. Rebranding himself as Sweeney Todd, he seeks revenge against the corrupt Judge Turpin who ruined his life and took his wife and daughter from him. With the help of Mrs. Lovett, the owner of a failing pie shop, Todd opens a barbershop above her shop and begins a murderous spree, slitting the throats of his unsuspecting customers. Mrs. Lovett then uses the bodies to make her meat pies, which become a grim culinary sensation.
