➱ STORYLINE:
"Splash" is a romantic comedy-fantasy film that tells the story of Allen Bauer, a man who falls in love with a mysterious woman named Madison, who happens to be a mermaid. After a chance encounter in the ocean during his childhood, Allen is drawn back to Madison as an adult. Their unconventional romance faces challenges, including Madison's secret and the pursuit of a scientist eager to capture the mermaid.

- The mermaid tail Daryl Hannah wore was fully functional. The showoff part is that, ironically enough, Hannah had learned to swim mermaid style (legs together) since childhood due to her fascination with the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid. As a result, she swam so fast with the tail that the safety divers couldn't keep up with her.
