STORYLINE:

Saving Mr. Banks (2013) tells the behind-the-scenes story of the making of the classic film Mary Poppins. The film focuses on the tumultuous relationship between author P.L. Travers and Walt Disney. Travers, the fiercely protective creator of Mary Poppins, travels to Los Angeles in the 1960s after Disney finally convinces her to discuss selling the film rights. As the two clash over the vision for the movie, Travers is forced to confront her own past, which inspired her beloved characters. The film weaves together her memories of growing up in Australia with the creative struggles in bringing her story to the big screen.
