Mud (2013) is a coming-of-age drama that follows the story of two young boys, Ellis and Neckbone, who discover a fugitive named Mud hiding on a small island in the Mississippi River. Mud tells them fantastic stories about his life and his plan to reunite with his true love, Juniper. Intrigued and sympathetic, the boys agree to help Mud evade the bounty hunters on his trail and reconnect with Juniper. As they get deeper into Mud’s world, they learn hard truths about love, loyalty, and the complexities of human nature.
