Larry Hagman was an American actor, director, and producer, best known for his roles as J.R. Ewing on the television soap opera "Dallas" and as Major Anthony Nelson in the sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie." Hagman's portrayal of J.R. Ewing, the conniving and charismatic oil baron, made him one of television's most iconic villains, earning him international acclaim and solidifying his place in television history.


Born into a theatrical family, Hagman's early life was steeped in the performing arts, leading him to pursue a career in acting. After serving in the United States Air Force, Hagman honed his craft on stage in New York before moving to television and film. His role in "I Dream of Jeannie" showcased his comedic talents and made him a household name in the 1960s.
