Joey Ramone, born Jeffrey Ross Hyman, was an American musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the punk rock band the Ramones. Joey's distinctive voice and towering presence were central to the band's identity, helping to define the sound and attitude of punk rock.

The Ramones, formed in 1974, are credited with pioneering the punk movement with their fast, loud, and stripped-down music, influencing countless bands and musicians across various genres. Unfortunately, Joey Ramone passed away on April 15, 2021, at the age of 49.

The Ramones' debut album, "Ramones" (1976), with classics like "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "I Wanna Be Sedated," became a cornerstone of punk rock. Despite never achieving significant commercial success during their career, the band's influence was profound, earning them induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, shortly after Joey's death.

Joey battled health issues throughout his life, including a long fight with lymphoma, which led to his passing on April 15, 2001. His legacy lives on through the Ramones' music and the generations of punk bands that followed, embodying the spirit of rebellion and the ethos of punk.
