Eric Scott Montross (September 23, 1971 – December 17, 2023)
In late March 2023, a statement was released by the Montross family stating that Montross had recently been diagnosed with cancer, and that he would be receiving treatment at the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center. On December 17, Montross died at the age of 52. His death was announced by UNC basketball the following morning.
