➱ STORYLINE:
Beginners (2011) tells the story of Oliver Fields (Ewan McGregor), who is dealing with two life-changing events: the death of his father, Hal (Christopher Plummer), and the beginning of a new romantic relationship with Anna (Mélanie Laurent). Through flashbacks, the film reveals Hal's late-in-life coming out as gay and his subsequent embrace of a new lifestyle. As Oliver reflects on his father's journey and struggles with his own feelings, he learns to navigate love, loss, and new beginnings.
